Who is Marti Shawn?

Marti Shawn has been a creative, poet, storyteller, and spoken word artist since she could form words.

At the tender age of 6 years old, she wrote her first short story, nine pages in legnth. She just opened up wordpad and watched her imagination expand before her.

She first started solo traveling at the age of 23, where she found herself at home across the world for nearly a decade. Since returning to her home country, Mel has been inspiring others to get out and see the world through blogs, content creation and curating events for people to come together, feel safe, and understand the power of connection.

When she’s not writing she’s probably looking for the next mountain to climb, practicing some type of movement, or reading a book that allows for inspiration to flow through.

Aside from writing…

Marti also creates magic in the kitchen.

Marti has also spent her many years abroad learning the art of flavor and how crucial it is to each place she visits.

Through the years she has picked up the art of cooking and sharing authentic food of the places she’s been. Through hands on learning experiences like cooking with elders, and slowly traveling through a country she has been able to learn culinary tricks that can’t be taught at any institude.

Upon her return to the USA she combined these culinary skills with the art of sensory deprivation and curated an experience based on connecting deeper to yourself through the physical body, which have incredible impacts on improving your nervous sytem, creative drive, and so much more.

Our senses are the true gateway to the human experience, and Marti has found ways to show us.

Look out for pop-up events like sensory dining experiences and cafefully curated brunch parties along her travels.

Play A Little..

Through this journey of the world and the senses, it has become more aparent the importance of vulnerability and play in our everyday lives. All of Marti’s practices and teachings offer you the opportunity to invite fun into your life again.

Growing up we are taught that adults have to be responsible, go to work, come home, do it again. Marti’s mission is to change the narrative by building a community of humans who just want to discover all of life’s offerings and how to implement them into our daily lives so we can have more fulfilling stories.
